My Go-To Drugstore Beauty Products

Let’s face it (ha, pun intended), we don’t have a ton of money to drop on beauty and body products, and we always like the convenience of running into a store, grabbing what we need, and leaving (well, if you’re at Target…. those trips are really never quick…). So, I compiled a list of my favorite products that I’ve personally tested, and loved for years or just recently fell in love with.

All of these products are in my LIKEtoKNOW.it account, so you can easily shop them here!

I would only recommend products I genuinely love, and creating relative, useful content for you is my goal. Garnier Fructis Color Shield Paraben-Free Fortifying Shampoo and Conditioner
I’ve used this shampoo and conditioner duo for years! Funny story – I started using it once I started getting my hair colored back in high school, but my hair dresser, Debbie laughed at me and said I didn’t necessarily need the “color protection” in the shampoo because it was just bleach she was using to color my hair, haha. BUT I feel like I have my best hair days when I use it, so why fix it if it ain’t broken??

OGX Biogen and Collagen Shampoo and Conditioner
I’ve seen this brand time and time again, wondering if it was worth the hype. Well, this specific shampoo is. My hair has looked healthier and thicker ever since I started using it. It also has a nice, coconut scent.

Wet Brush
FAVORITE BRUSH EVER. Tangles are inevitable with my hair, and this brush cuts through the tangles with ease. The open brush is my favorite because it’s ideal to use when you use a hair dryer. The solid brushes are NOT recommended to use with a hair dryer because it ruins the bristles.

Garnier Fructis Style Sleek and Shine Hairspray
I’ve tried a BUNCH of hairsprays, and I keep coming back to this one. I love the amount of hold, and the scent is great, yet understated. This is probably my favorite product of all!

Big Sexy Hair Hairspray
This is a close second to my favorite hair spray! I also keep an eye out for when it goes on sale, and I stock up!

Batiste Dry Shampoo
After trying several dry shampoos, I keep coming back to this one. I’m picky about the scent though – I don’t like any of my products to have a powdery smell, so I stick to the not overly sweet Pink Pineapple scent. My hair looks like it’s been freshly washed when I use it, and it’ll be hard for me to switch.

Kristen Ess Loose Styling Powder
All of Kristen Ess’s products are top-notch, and this is one of my favorites by her. I love the volume it gives my hair!

Roc Retinol Correxion Max Daily Hydration Cream (Fragrance Free)
After using this for well over a year, I can see the difference in my skin. Although I don’t yet have an issue with wrinkles (let’s hope I don’t one day), but I’m a HUGE fan of the fact that the fragrance free option is now available. I love this stuff!

Clean & Clear Advantage Acne Spot Treatment
Tried and true, I’ve used this since high school, and it never lets me down.

Loreal Revitalift 10% Glycolic Acid
I started using this about a month ago so I can’t give a true review of this, but I do know that my face feels supple and refreshed the morning after I add this to my night routine. Here’s my initial post/review about the difference between Hyaluronic and Glycolic acid.

Systane Eye Drops
Random, but this is my go-to when Chris and I have dry eyes. This works quickly to soothe dry eyes, and it’s highly recommended by my ophthalmologist.

Blistex Medicated Lip Balm
My mom bought Chris and I this lip balm for our Christmas stockings (thanks, Mom!!), and I’ve been a long-time lover of Burt’s Bees, but it hasn’t seemed to have been working as well as it used to (thanks, Covid and constant mask-wearing). But this Blistex is great for my parched lips, and I love that it doesn’t have a “medicinal” smell to it!

Burt’s Bees Overnight Lip Treatment
I prefer lip treatments from Bite and Laneige, but my drugstore fave is the Burt’s Bees mask is a great replacement at a good price.

Real Techniques Foundation Brush and Sponge
I am a cult follower of the Beauty Blender sponge, BUT this Real Techniques sponge is GREAT, and can be used dry or wet, which is a nice option. I just recently started using the foundation brush, and I can say that I’m highly impressed with this duo.

Maybelline Colossal Volume and Colossal Big Shot Mascara
MY FAVORITE MASCARAS OF ALL-TIME! I have sensitive eyes, so I have be careful about the brands I use, and I have to ensure that the one(s) I use don’t flake. I’ve used both of these for YEARS, and about 5 years ago I started wearing both of them together. As I always say, “I only brag about a couple of things; my incredible husband and my eyelashes.” Yes, I was absolutely blessed with long, naturally curled eyelashes, BUT this mascara only makes them better.

Maybelline Pencil Eyeliner
I use this one the days that I don’t want to mess with liquid eyeliner, and I need a quick line on my eyes. I love that it can be sharpened, and it has a blender on the other end.

Maybelline Line Works Liquid Liner (Waterproof)
When I say I’ve used this since I started wearing makeup, this would not at all be an exaggeration. It disappeared for a while, which broke my heart because nothing else compares (*cue Sinead O’Connor song*), but it returned! It can only be found exclusively at Walmart and Walmart Neighborhood Market, but at least it still exists! It stays put on my eyes, yet it isn’t at all difficult to remove. Love this stuff.

NYX Setting Spray
This surprising little product sets my makeup almost as good as a fancy, schmancy setting spray. There are several versions (matte, dewy, etc.) but the matte is my favorite for year-round use.

Maybelline SuperStay Matte Ink & Lip Crayon
This stuff stays on ALL day. No joke. I love the variety of colors, and I have to keep track of the colors I buy so I don’t double up by accident! The ONLY way to properly take this off my lips, however, is the Superstay Eraser, found below!

Maybelline Superstay Eraser
I randomly heard about this from an employee at Walgreen’s and said it’s a MUST HAVE for people who use ANY type of matte lipstick. And she was SO right. It’s saved my lips from drying out after a long day/night of wearing matte lipstick.

Maybelline Fit Me Foundation
Recommended for sensitive, acne-prone skin (all skin types, really, but it’s good for people with these issues), and I love that there are so many colors, which makes it feel more custom to me. I love the fuller coverage it gives, and it’s a go-to when I’m not wearing my typical foundation.

Neutrogena Foundation
I’ll be completely honest – I haven’t yet tried this one… but with Salicylic acid as one of the ingredients, I’m curious as to how it would be on my skin. Once I try it, I’ll let you know, but I have read multiple articles, raving about it!

Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion
This stuff makes my skin SO soft. I initially started using it after getting my first tattoo (sorry, Mom!) because it’s fragrance free and more natural than other lotions I’ve used. I’m hooked on this stuff, and I love that it doesn’t feel heavy or sticky. It’s perfect!

Sally Hansen Nail Cuticle Oil
Especially in the colder months, my poor little hands and nails need some extra love. I love using cuticle oil on my crazy cuticles (they grow so dang fast), and it’s like a little manicure experience every time I use it!

Sally Hansen Ultimate Shield and Top Coat
Cult classic, and a go-to for nails with or without color! This stuff is legit.

Jergens Natural Glow Wet Skin Moisturizer
I can’t speak highly enough about this moisturizer, and I’ve actually reviewed it here!

Olay Cleansing & Nourishing Body Wash
I had seen this advertised everywhere, so I decided to give it a try. I definitely wasn’t disappointed – All of the variations have a different scent as well as different benefits, depending on your skin’s needs. This made my skin so soft, and I look forward to trying the others in this line.

Exfoliating Body Sponge
Ideal for giving your skin a good scrub, but not to be used daily!

Dove Bar (For Sensitive Skin)
I use this when I just want to use something a little more natural during my shower, and this little bar doesn’t disappoint. I purchased this when I got my first tattoo because this was one of the few things that was recommended for fresh ink and ensuring it stayed clean. I’ve kept using it periodically, and with it being fragrance-free and natural, I’ll keep using it!

Dr. Teal’s Bath Bombs
I keep these on-hand when I want a relaxing bath without needing to add any bath fizz or bubbles. After I light a candle, and grab some wine, I have a luxurious bath that didn’t cost a fortune!

Gold Bond Rough & Bumpy Skin Lotion
Admit it. You’ve probably had those little bumps on the back of your arms or on the top of your thighs at some point in your life, and they’re ANNOYING and unsightly as hell. They’re called keratosis pilaris, and although it can’t be cured, it can absolutely be treated. I don’t have hardly any on my arms anymore (they say the bumps start disappearing into your 30’s), but this Gold Bond lotion was the BEST thing I’ve ever used on my dry arms. This stuff was REALLY sticky, so I only used it at night, knowing at some point I would get stuck to the sheets, but it was WORTH it.

BONUS!! I can’t leave out the products specifically for the guys, so the below reviews and recommendations were by the one and only Chris Graham (aka my studly husband)! Y’all know he always looks fly, and his hair is on-POINT, so I’d pay close attention to his recommendations 😉

Tea Tree Special Shampoo and Conditioner
Not only does it smell good, but it feels good on my scalp. And it shampoos and conditions.

Dove Active Clean Scrubber
There are two sides; one side is a pouf, and the other is a scrubber. I like it.

Native Deodorant
It’s native and it deodorizes.

Old Spice Deodorant and Body Wash
They do the job. I particularly like the Deep Scrub body wash, and they have multiple scents. Pick your own!

American Crew Hair Pomade
I mean, have you seen my hair? No shine, and it holds!

Wet Brush
I used to steal Chelsey’s because I loved it so much, and then she eventually bought one for me so I’d stop using hers. I love this thing.

Travel Case
This keeps all of my stuff organized when I travel… when I don’t forget to put stuff in there, and then I show up without a toothbrush or a razor.

Vaseline Face and Body Lotion
It moisturizes.

Norelco One-Blade Electric Razor
Super easy, quick, and it comes with several trimming blades.

You’re welcome.
-Chris
