My Go-To Pool Day Accessories

Summertime is finally here! It’s time to bust out that sunscreen, colorful swimsuits, and oversized beach towels!

It’s been raining SO much in Dallas/Fort Worth lately, but I was finally able to enjoy a day at the pool and get some much-needed Vitamin D.

Now that it’s officially Pool Season, I have a bag basically packed and ready to go at a moment’s notice.

All of these products are in my LIKEtoKNOW.it account, so you can easily shop them here!

My product selections are curated by only myself, with no bias to specific brands or paid sponsorships. If you buy something through the product links, I earn an affiliate commission, at absolutely no cost to you. I would only recommend products I genuinely love, and creating relative, useful content for you is my goal. So, if you wish to purchase any of these products, I may kindly request that you purchase them through my LIKEtoKNOWit page 🙂

Here’s What Stays in My Pool Bag

  • Sunscreen (for both body and face)
    • Look for sunscreen with UVA and UVB coverage, and when in doubt, always go with the higher SPF number! My favorite face sunscreen is Neutrogena because it’s lightweight and doesn’t break out my face. Coppertone seems to be the best sunscreen as far as effectiveness and “stay-on”/sweatproof power.
  • Sun Bum Lip Balm
    • The Pineapple one is my personal fave 😉
  • Germ-X and Hand Lotion
    • Because germs. And I use both to remove any sunscreen from my palms
  • Portable Fan
    • A MUST in this intense summer temps
  • Bug Repellent Wipes
    • I’ve found that the best scent to keep away the mosquitos is lemon or basically anything citrus-y. But these wipes are handy AND helpful!
  • Scrunchies, Hair Ties, and Hair Clips
    • Cute AND functional. Gimme Beauty are my favorite hair ties BY FAR, but I love some colorful, printed scrunchies to spice up an outfit, especially at the pool
  • Airpods
    • One of the BEST gifts I’ve ever received (thanks, C!) and they’re a staple for everyday use at work, home, travel, and leisure. They’re uber portable, lightweight, noise-cancelling, and have phenomenal sound quality.
  • Portable Waterproof Speaker
    • Some tunes always make a pool experience 100% better!
  • Book and/or Magazine
    • No explanation needed – I added my favorite book of all-time, Where the Crawdads Sing as well as the book I’m currently reading, The Hunting Party. As for magazines, I reach for Women’s Health, Real Simple, Entertainment Weekly, People, Shape, HGTV, and sometimes Southern Living. (I’ve come a long way since my Teen Bop, Cosmo, and Delia’s catalog days…. haha)
  • After-Sun Lotion
    • This isn’t as effective or healing if you have a sunburn, but it is a nice product to cool and lightly scent your skin after a day in the sun.

The Essential (Slightly Extra) Pool Accessories

  • Oversized Towel
    • There’s nothing worse than a tiny towel that won’t fully cover a lounge chair, so oversized (usually around 70 inches in length) are the way to go
  • Cover-Up
    • Cover-ups are so much easier to wear to a pool than a shirt and shorts, plus… it’s like being fancy and wearing a dress at the pool!
  • Slide Sandals
    • Try to avoid sandals with any type of embellishments or studding since they won’t hold up over time, being exposed to chlorine and dirt. My favorite go-tos are in the photo above!
  • Cute (AND Functional) Sunglasses
    • My all-time favorite shades are Ray Bans, and I actually just purchased the pink ones in the photo. They’re my first pair of polarized Ray Bans, and I’m SO excited to wear them for the first time! The other pink/rose gold shades in the photo are from Walmart, and they’re also a daily go-go for fashion AND function.
  • Pool Float(s)
    • The lounge floats with cup holders are my favorite, but in the event that you can’t find any (the one I bought was sold out at Target so I can’t tag it), the ones in the picture are less than $10 AND they’re colorful and fun!
  • Cooler Backpack
    • This will hold SO many seltzers (AND water… which is most important…) I’ll also keep cold packs in there, along with ice, to place on my neck or forehead if I get too hot.
  • Statement Floppy Hat
    • When I’m not rocking my “Mrs. Graham” hat that I wore on our honeymoon, I’m seen wearing my “Out of Office” hat from Walmart or my “Do Not Disturb” hat
  • Stackable Bracelets
    • Gotta love a bunch of colorful bracelets to go with ANY swimsuit for under $10!
  • Statement Earrings
    • The days of naked earlobes are the pool are over! 🙂
  • Plastic Cup with Straw
    • This needs ABSOLUTELY ZERO explanation. Buy the pineapple cup!!!!

See y’all at the pool! Until next time…
