Again, please note that our wedding was in September of 2019, which was just a few months before Covid took over, so we were incredibly BLESSED to be able to have a wedding pre-social distancing and mask days.
My heart goes out to all of the couples whose weddings were affected by this pandemic.
The Food
Y’all. When I say our dinner was heavenly, I’m not exaggerating. All of the food was catered in-house at our venue by Food Glorious Food. The staff and servers were attentive and polite, and the buffet line for over 200 guests SAILED by. It was very impressive.
Chris and I actually snuck into my Bridal Suite to have dinner without distractions. I’m glad we did this, but I also have FOMO (fear of missing out), and I’ll always wonder what we missed while we were having our private dinner.
Here’s what was on the menu:
Butler Passed Hors D’oeuvres
– Bruschetta with Roasted Pepper Spread and Kalamata-Tomato Relish
– Mini Fried Green Tomato topped with Garlic Aioli and Pepper Bacon (this was my ABSOLUTE favorite part of the meal)
– Mac & Cheese Bites with Neuske’s Bacon Crumbles and Chives
Dinner Buffet
Starters
– Baby Herbs & Rocket Greens
– Red & Yellow Grape Tomatoes, Sliced Cucumbers
– Balsamic Vinaigrette and Herb Ranch Dressing
Sides
– Greek Orzo Pasta Salad with Oregano and Feta Cheese

– Buttery dinner rolls

Meyer Lemon Chicken Picatta with Capers and Italian Parsley (DELCIOUS!!!!)
Flowers & Decor
Flowers
Our flowers and greenery were done by Darla, the owner of Blossoms on the Bricks in Fort Worth. Scattered throughout the venue was an abundance of greenery, with Magnolia leaves playing a starring role. The cross at the altar was draped in greenery, playa white roses, blue thistle, wine dahlias, silver dollar, and white ranunculus, and the piece doubled as the topper for our sweetheart table. “Hidden Mickey” elements were also incorporated into our florals, which added an extra element of fun for our guests.
Decor
All 25, round tables had ivory linens, and featured a centerpiece consisting of a trio of cylinders of varied heights, each with floating votive candles, all sitting atop a large, round mirror. Simple, yet so elegant! Our favors, which were mini succulents, also served as decoration for the tables. Around the room, we had one of my Bridal portraits, several engagement photos on large canvases, and a photo of Chris and I wearing our Radio Disney jackets, with our nametags leaning on the frame. Lastly, our guestbook was a notebook replica of the “Adventure Is Out There” scrapbook from Disney Pixar’s Up, purchased from Box Lunch. *all the happy tears*
Cakes
Our cakes were made by my incredibly talented cousin, Kelli Frick, owner of Frickin’ Sweet. For the groom’s cake, she created a red velvet cake (Chris’s favorite cake flavor) with cream cheese frosting, and designed it to look just like Chris’s wedding day tux, even his burgundy bow tie! The bridal cake was a three-tiered, Funfetti-flavored cake with buttercream frosting. The sprinkles inside the cake created a fun element of surprise for our guests!
Music
When I say we partied, we PARTIED. Thanks to our DJ Rod Baker, the kept the wedding flowing and moving along, knowing that one of our priorities was to get the party started and not let dinner drag on too long. He was so much fun to work with, and he truly knew our vision from the first time we met (we met him at a wedding cake tasting; it’s really a funny story… and Chris literally said to me, “Only YOU could go to a bakery, and end up hiring our DJ!”)

Photography
I can’t say enough great things about our photographer, Emily Watson, owner of Emily Nicole Photo. Y’all, she is the REAL deal. Not only is she super talented, she’s a genuine, delightful breath of fresh air, and she made our engagement session, my bridal session, and our wedding day photography so look easy, yet she was as the forefront of creating something so fun and memorable for all of us.
She was also ALL about taking this impromptu shot of me squatting in the street…. Bridesmaids-style 😉
Videography
A wedding video was at the top of our list, and for anyone questioning whether or not they should have a videographer…. don’t think twice about it and book Cinematic Saviors!!! The owner and lead videographer happens to be my BFF’s little brother, David Wilson and DANG, he is so freaking talented!!! He’s incredible at his craft, and his passion shows through every. single. shot he gets. I was also SO excited that he was able to be the one from his company to shoot my wedding, and he was able to bring his “second shooter”, McKenzie (who was his girlfriend at the time… now they’re engaged!!) so they could both be a part of our wedding.
David took hours worth of footage, and created an ABSOLUTELY stunning wedding video for us in just a few days, which Chris and I able to watch together for the first time on our honeymoon. Absolutely magical. Watch for yourself if you haven’t seen it already. Or if you just can’t get enough of it….
Photobooth
100% glad we booked my friend, Austin’s photo booth company, The Traveling Photo Booth. I love the idea of wedding guests having something to do other than drink, snack, and talk to each other during cocktail hour, so everyone took advantage of the photo booth, and continued to do so through the night. Good heavens, the photos turned out amazing, and we’re SO glad we booked The Traveling Photo Booth!! A slideshow is below with all of the photos!
The Little Details
The little details made our wedding so, so special to us, and we couldn’t have celebrated the day without first honoring our loved ones that we have lost. I had little pendants that hung from my bouquet with photos of my dad and my childhood dog, Sara. I also had a pocket from one of my dad’s blue dress shirts sewn into my dress on the left hand side, over my heart.
Our memorial table displayed beautiful photos of my dad and Chris’s step-father, David, both sets of grandparents on each of our sides, my cousin, Denee, Chris’s cousin, Nate, my uncle, Melvin, and a photo of a paw print honoring all of our fur babies. It warmed our hearts knowing they were all with us the entire evening.

Officiant: Our hilarious, former Radio Disney boss, Jay Jenson. He is the one that inadvertently introduced us!
Tossed at our Exit: Biodegradable confetti, called Ecofetti
Getaway Car: 2019 Stingray, rented from Turo (OBSESSED with this thing!)
Phew! We’ve reached the end of all of the details from the ceremony and reception! If not only for Chris and I to look back on and remember, I hope I was able to provide insight or inspiration for weddings to come in the future!
