Best Tex-Mex Happy Hour
Since we’re in and around Grapevine quite often, Chris and I have found one of our favorite (chain) Tex-Mex restaurants – Blue Goose Cantina. Their food is always on-point, and their Happy Hour totally rocks (especially on Tuesday and Wednesday!) We could almost drink the salsa with a straw because it’s so fresh and it always tastes SO good, their combo fajitas have amazing flavor with an ample amount of side items to add to the fajitas (cheese, guacamole, pico, etc.), and my favorite dish is the veggie quesadillas, which are mouthwateringly amazing with Monterrey jack cheese and poblano peppers! I took the liberty of putting their Happy Hour below:
MONDAY
All Day Happy Hour
TUESDAY
$2 Tuesday (All Day) | The Rock Margarita. The Frozen Margarita
WEDNESDAY
$5 La Flaca Skinny Margaritas (All Day)
THURSDAY
$3 Thursday (All Day) | The Rock Margarita. The Frozen Margarita. Well Drinks. Queso.
FRIDAY
Happy Hour 2:30-6:30
SATURDAY & SUNDAY
Weekend Brunch 10am-3pm | $5 Mimosas. $5 Bloody Marys

My favorite drink is Pablo’s Daughter (pineapple and jalapeno-infused Dulce Vida tequila, fresh lime juice, and agave nectar), and Chris’s fave is The Meltdown (original frozen topped with Casamigos Blanco tequila). Pro tip: Order your drink(s) half frozen, half on the rocks so you’ll get less ice, which is notorious for watering down drinks (how dare it do that)!
Blue Goose has locations in Grapevine, Fort Worth, Frisco, Plano, Lower Greenville, Highland Village, and McKinney. Go check ’em out! I would tell you to tell them that Chelsey sent you, but they don’t know me that well. We’re not to Cheers-level. Yet.
Color Street
My first round of Color Street nail color is actually on my hands in the above photo! And that photo was taken after was a week’s wear, which included a vacation to Colorado! No chipping or messed-up polish!
I don’t know about y’all but I love a good nail color, but I actually dread painting my nails because I’m OCD. If not all of the nails match, or one of them is messed up, I accept defeat, and I reach for the nail polish remover. Going to get manicures is also process, and I try to avoid dip at all costs because a) ew, so many people put their fingers in there, and b) it weakens my strong nails. So, in steps Color Street!
My co-worker, Kelsey is part of a mother/daughter team that sells Color Street, and seeing firsthand (literally) how good her nails looked with the different designs and colors, AND how simple it was to apply, I knew I had to try it! It’s real nail polish, and comes in strips that can be adhered to nails without heat or crazy intricate application process. I’ve ordered several sets since my first trial run before our trip, and I can’t wait to try them all out, especially the holiday and seasonal colors.
I’ll let the experts explain how it works because I’m still a newbie at the application process, but check out Rockin’ R Nails and order through them because you’re missing out if you haven’t bought Color Street yet. You know your nails gotta be lookin’ fresh when you’re taking that photo, holding a wine glass for the ‘gram…

First Watch Cafe
When I say that I had the best pancakes I’ve ever had, it is not at all an exaggeration. The Lemon Ricotta Pancakes from First Watch Cafe are what dreams are made of. They add fresh, whipped ricotta cheese to their multigrain pancake batter, and they’re topped with marinated berries, strawberries, and creamy lemon curd. (Clearly, this isn’t keto… but I will always use a cheat day on good pancakes!) And because I was splurging, I ordered a side of the Millionaire’s Bacon, which was four strips of bacon, baked with brown sugar, black pepper, cayenne and a maple syrup drizzle. YALL. Unreal.
Check out their website for the location closest to you, and browse the menu while you’re at it. It’s drool-inducing, for SURE.
I could go on and on about how much I love the ambiance, service, quality and the plethora of options, but I want you to just experience it for yourself! Let me know what you think!

Bath & Body Works
I’ll keep this one short and sweet: I’ve been a fan of Bath & Body Works for as long as I can remember, and their fall scents are still my favorite to this day. I recently took advantage of their always-ongoing Buy 2, Get 1 Free promotion, and purchased some scents that make my autumn-loving heart happy. My two new faves: Sweet Whiskey (I bought this in the Ultra Shea Body Cream… it’s fabulous) and Sweater Weather (I got the Fine Fragrance Mist) – Sooooo good (and everyday I wear either one, multiple co-workers come into my office just to smell the air, lol)

Blue-Light Filtering Glasses
If you stare at a computer screen either at home or at work, and you’ve suffered from eye strain or headache, I would definitely suggest trying out blue light-filtering glasses. They’ve truly made a huge difference in my productivity, and my eyes aren’t nearly as dry and tired at the end of the day. I got my first pair on Amazon, then I found a pair at Target, and then I found a 3-pack of them at Sam’s Club. So, I have several pairs, but they’re inexpensive and I have them both at home, in my office, and even in my car. (Obviously results will vary, so please note that I’m not a medical professional… 🙂 I just know they work for me as well as many of my friends and family!)

Widgetsmith
There’s not much to say other than if you’re an iPhone user and you’re upgraded to iOS 14, you need to download Widgetsmith. It adds fun, customization options that Apple users aren’t normally used to. Try it out, and fiddle with all of the colors and widget options – It’s fun to make your home screen all chic and pleasing to the eye again! Here’s a video, showing and explaining how to implement the new widgets!
That’s all for today folks! After this post you should look, smell, and feel nice 🙂 Stay tuned for the much-anticipated video from our Colorado Trip! (It’s not really that anticipated, but I need to find the time to sit down and actually edit video clips from the trip, and put everything together.) I just know you’re having a hard time going about your day without the newest video… 😉
The weather is cooling down, which is just inviting me to be outside, frolicking in sweater weather. We never know what the future holds, but I do know mine will involve pumpkins, scarves, boots, and patio sitting and sipping. Stay tuned for more musings…

Really do love your blog. You have a talent for this. It’s fun and informative— I want those pancakes now!! Keep it up. It’s fun to read and follow you.
